Minnesota Licensed Electrician List
3,091 records in our covered Minnesota sources. Snapshot refreshed 2026-09-02. Build a roster for your territory, with phone and email where available. Credential requirements vary by trade and locality; review the state guidance below.
Why verification matters
For panel work or new circuits, agree on the electrical scope and who will obtain permits. Check the applicable electrical credential; a directory entry does not establish that work has been inspected.

Where this list comes from
Our Minnesota roster uses covered records from Minnesota Dept. of Labor and Industry (DLI). A current source check is still needed. Counts describe records in that snapshot, not every business operating in the state.
A license or registration record is a starting point. Credential types and scope differ by jurisdiction; a listing does not establish today's status or authorization for every type of work.
Before hiring, match the business and credential number with the relevant authority, check scope and current status, and confirm local permits. Contacts and Google ratings, when present, are separate enrichment rather than licensing evidence.

Minnesota: credentials and scope
Minnesota DLI distinguishes licensed trades and residential contractor credentials from mechanical-contractor bond filings. Minnesota does not issue a state mechanical contractor license; mechanical contractors must file the required $25,000 bond with DLI.
A mechanical bond entry is not a plumbing or electrical license and does not resolve local mechanical licensing or permit requirements. Read the credential type in the official result.
Example: For HVAC work involving plumbing or electrical connections, ask which licensed trades will handle those portions and confirm the local requirements.
Read the type of DLI record before calling it a license
- For mechanical work, identify the mechanical-contractor bond filing. Minnesota does not issue a state mechanical contractor license, so do not search indefinitely for a credential the state does not issue.
- For a mixed HVAC, electrical and plumbing project, ask for the separately licensed contractors handling those trades. Record their credential types rather than merging them with the mechanical bond entry.
- Check local mechanical requirements and permits with the project jurisdiction. Ask the contractor for the written equipment and installation scope so the local office can answer the actual job question.
Example: a heating company supplies a bond record for a furnace replacement. That answers the bond-filing question; it does not establish an electrical or plumbing license for connections included in its quote.

Common questions about electricians in Minnesota
How do I research electricians in Minnesota?
Start with the authority for the trade and project locality. Match the exact business and credential number, check current status and scope, then ask about local permits, insurance and comparable work. A directory listing or rating does not complete those checks.
How many electricians does the Minnesota roster cover?
Our snapshot contains 3,091 records in this category. Records are not necessarily unique companies, and source coverage is not a census of every business in the state.
Where does this data come from?
Covered records come from Minnesota Dept. of Labor and Industry (DLI). License and registration types differ; check the credential that applies to your project. Contacts and ratings are separate enrichment where available.
What contact information is included?
Available fields can include phone, email, website and Google ratings. Availability varies by record and selection; an unavailable field is not a zero, closure or negative finding. Review the selected inventory before purchase.
What will my list cost and when will it arrive?
The current purchase flow shows the price for your selected territory and filters before checkout. Larger website orders are typically delivered within one business day. Custom research scope and delivery timing are agreed before purchase.
Does this list establish current license status?
No. The recorded source refresh date is 2026-09-02. This is a snapshot rather than a live-status guarantee. Verify the appropriate official record before hiring.
