1. Who we are

ContractorRoster (“we,” “us,” or “our”) operates contractorroster.com, a service that compiles active licensed contractor records from official state license boards and enriches them with contact information drawn from public records and businesses’ own published listings, delivered as a downloadable CSV file.

2. Acceptance of terms

By accessing or using ContractorRoster, placing an order, or downloading any data we provide, you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, do not use the service.

3. What we provide

ContractorRoster compiles records of active licensed contractors across 17 trades (electrical, plumbing, HVAC, general, roofing, solar, landscape, pool, fire protection, carpentry, concrete, masonry, drywall, tile, excavating, painting, flooring) from official state licensing authorities. Data is delivered as a CSV file to the email address you provide at checkout.

How we source contact data: We compile contact information that contractors and businesses make publicly available, including their own published websites, government business registries, and public license records. We may use other public sources, such as online business directories and mapping services, only to locate and verify a licensed business; we do not resell proprietary third-party platform content. Enriched contact information is present for the large majority of records.

We cover a growing list of U.S. states; the current list and counts are shown on our site. Coverage is subject to change as we add or update state data sources.

4. Permitted use

Data purchased from ContractorRoster may be used for lawful business purposes, including but not limited to: sourcing licensed subcontractors, sales prospecting, supplier outreach, recruiting, property management, and market research.

You may not:

• Resell, sublicense, or redistribute the data to third parties as a standalone data product.
• Use the data to send unsolicited bulk communications in violation of applicable anti-spam laws, including the CAN-SPAM Act and TCPA.
• Use the data to harass, stalk, or harm any individual.
• Represent ContractorRoster data as your own proprietary database or claim authorship of the underlying records.
• Use automated means to scrape, harvest, or extract data beyond what is included in your purchased CSV.

5. Payment and delivery

Orders are priced per trade by the size of the territory you select, starting at $19. Payment is processed securely via Stripe. We do not store your payment card information.

Your CSV will be delivered to the email address you provide within approximately 3 minutes of payment confirmation. If you do not receive your file within 15 minutes, contact us at [email protected].

6. Refund policy

Because ContractorRoster delivers digital data that is accessible the moment you pay, we do not offer refunds for a change of mind once a CSV has been delivered. If something is wrong on our end (you didn’t receive your file, it covered the wrong geography or trade, or it arrived empty or corrupted), contact us at [email protected] within 7 days and we’ll make it right with a corrected file.

7. Data accuracy disclaimer

License data is sourced from official state licensing authorities and reflects those authorities’ records at the time of our most recent update. Contact information (phone, email, website) is enriched from publicly available sources and is present for most records, but we cannot guarantee its accuracy or completeness for any individual record.

ContractorRoster is not a real-time verification service. License status and contact information may change after our data is compiled. You are responsible for independently verifying any information before relying on it for hiring, contracting, or compliance decisions.

8. Disclaimer of warranties

The service is provided “as is” and “as available” without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including but not limited to warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, accuracy, completeness, or non-infringement.

9. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, ContractorRoster’s total liability to you for any claim arising out of or relating to these terms or the service shall not exceed the amount you paid for the specific order giving rise to the claim. We are not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, including lost profits or data.

10. Intellectual property

The underlying license records are compiled from public government data. Our selection, arrangement, enrichment, and presentation of that data (including the ContractorRoster platform, brand, and methodology) are our intellectual property. Purchasing a CSV grants you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to use that file for permitted purposes as described in Section 4.

11. Changes to terms

We may update these Terms of Service from time to time. The effective date at the top of this page reflects the date of the most recent revision. Continued use of the service after changes are posted constitutes your acceptance of the revised terms.

12. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the United States applicable to agreements made and performed entirely online, without regard to conflict of law principles.
