Where this list comes from

Our California roster uses covered records from California Contractors State License Board (CSLB). A current source check is still needed. Counts describe records in that snapshot, not every business operating in the state.

A license or registration record is a starting point. Credential types and scope differ by jurisdiction; a listing does not establish today's status or authorization for every type of work.

Before hiring, match the business and credential number with the relevant authority, check scope and current status, and confirm local permits. Contacts and Google ratings, when present, are separate enrichment rather than licensing evidence.

California: credentials and scope

California's CSLB licenses contractors by classification. Since January 1, 2025, the minor-work exemption is limited to work costing less than $1,000 in combined labor and materials, with no required permit and no employee labor; other statutory conditions also apply.

A low price alone does not make a job exempt. Check the classification as well as current status, and use CSLB's current exemption guidance rather than the old $500 threshold.

Example: For a small repair that needs a permit, ask CSLB or the local building department about the license requirement before treating it as handyman work.

Check the repair exception before relying on its price
  1. Write down the whole job, including labor and materials, and ask the local building department whether it needs a permit. A quote below the dollar threshold does not answer the permit or employee conditions.
  2. Ask for the CSLB number and classification covering the proposed work. Compare the contracting name with the holder rather than accepting a photograph of a license belonging to another business.
  3. For a larger renovation, separate the general building scope from the electrical, plumbing and other subcontracted work. Ask who will perform each portion and resolve classification questions with CSLB before accepting the bid.

Example question for CSLB: “This repair includes materials and employee labor and may need a permit. Which license classification or exemption applies to this complete scope?” Include the proposal; do not ask only whether a dollar amount is small enough.

Common questions about concrete contractors in California

How do I research concrete contractors in California?

Start with the authority for the trade and project locality. Match the exact business and credential number, check current status and scope, then ask about local permits, insurance and comparable work. A directory listing or rating does not complete those checks.

How many concrete contractors does the California roster cover?

Our snapshot contains 5,851 records in this category. Records are not necessarily unique companies, and source coverage is not a census of every business in the state.

Where does this data come from?

Covered records come from California Contractors State License Board (CSLB). License and registration types differ; check the credential that applies to your project. Contacts and ratings are separate enrichment where available.

What contact information is included?

Available fields can include phone, email, website and Google ratings. Availability varies by record and selection; an unavailable field is not a zero, closure or negative finding. Review the selected inventory before purchase.

What will my list cost and when will it arrive?

The current purchase flow shows the price for your selected territory and filters before checkout. Larger website orders are typically delivered within one business day. Custom research scope and delivery timing are agreed before purchase.

Does this list establish current license status?

No. The recorded source refresh date is 2026-09-02. This is a snapshot rather than a live-status guarantee. Verify the appropriate official record before hiring.

From $19. Pay for what you draw

Draw your territory on the map; the price follows the size of the list. Pay once. Larger website orders typically arrive within one business day. No subscription, no account.
