— Board-sourced contractor data · 28 states · updated 2026-07-13 —
Own 798,000+ active contractor license records. One purchase. 28 states. Yours to keep.
A one-time CSV database sourced directly from the official state license boards we cover, enriched with business phone, email, and website. Built for lenders, insurers, suppliers, franchises, and contractor-focused platforms.
“There's no other leads database we've been able to find that has what ContractorRoster offers.”
If your team prospects contractors at scale, you know the two bad options: rent records at $0.10–0.30 apiece from platforms that meter every export, or buy scraped “contractor lists” with no license verification behind them. One punishes growth; the other fills your CRM with businesses that were never licensed. And both bill you again next quarter — a rented list is a snapshot you're not allowed to keep.
Where the data comes from
We pull directly from state licensing boards and government registries to verify license status and update on a schedule.
What owning the whole file changes
Whether you lend, insure, or supply, the shift is the same: your outreach stops being limited by how many records you rented this month, and your territory math finally has a real denominator — everyone licensed, not whoever a directory scraper happened to catch. Every row is a business that had to qualify with its state board to exist, and every campaign after the first runs on data you already own. One closed deal covers the file many times over.

~1¢
per record
- ✓ Phone, email & website enriched at delivery
- ✓ Board verify-URL on every row
- ✓ Yours permanently — no meters, no seats, no expiry
- ✓ Optional quarterly maintenance ($899/quarter): new licenses in, lapsed out
Downloadable data — purchases are final, so validate first with the sample or a coverage check. Files that don't match the published schema get corrected or replaced free. Checkout takes card or ACH bank transfer (ACH delivery starts once the transfer settles). Need an invoice instead? Email us.
The 15-row sample is the exact delivery schema — one state-and-trade combo per record, every cell populated, contact fields redacted. The license numbers are real: pick any row and check it against the state board's own lookup.
What comparable coverage costs elsewhere

|---|---|---|---|---|
| Est. first-year cost | ~$150k–$400k+ | ~$50k–$225k | ~$100k–$450k | $9,900, once |

| Ownership access | ✗ Rented | ✗ Time-limited | ✓ Yours | ✓ Yours forever |
| Verified against license boards | ✗ | ✗ Inferred | ✓ DIY | ✓ Every row |
| Local trades coverage | ✗ Weak | Mixed | ✓ Full | ✓ Full |

Estimates, not quotes — negotiated enterprise deals vary, and the routes differ in usage rights (most license rather than sell) and in whether “licensed” is board-verified. Want the sourcing behind these ranges? Email us and we'll send the research notes.
Common questions
Are these unique businesses or license records?
License records — one row per active license. A business holding licenses in two states (or two trades on separate licenses) appears once per license, which is usually what territory and compliance workflows want. We publish the record count, not an inflated "contractors" number.
What counts as an active license?
Each state board publishes its own status values; we keep only records the board currently marks active (e.g. CLEAR in California) and drop the rest. We re-check status on a schedule, so lapsed and revoked licenses leave the database rather than lingering.
Do all records have phone and email?
We enrich with what we can on every licensed contractor — phone, email, and website matched from public sources at delivery. Coverage varies by record and by state board, since some boards publish contact data natively and some businesses are sparse online. The license record itself is complete on every row.
Do I own the data after purchase?
Yes. You get CSV files delivered to your email — load them into any CRM, dialer, or warehouse. No seat licenses, no export caps, no single-use restrictions. Redistribution or resale of the files themselves isn't permitted; using the data to run your own outreach and operations is the point.
Who is responsible for outreach compliance?
You are. This is business contact data from public records, but how you contact these businesses — CAN-SPAM for email, TCPA for calls and texts, state-level rules — is governed by your outreach practices, not by the data source. Consult your counsel before campaigns.
How is the database delivered, and what if something's wrong?
As a private, organized folder of CSV files — one folder per state — shared to the email you choose, within 1 business day of checkout. Files are sized to open cleanly in Excel or import anywhere. Purchases are final (it's downloadable data), but if the delivered files don't match the published schema or record counts, we correct or replace them free.
“Wow — I can't believe how fast these can be delivered with everything my team wants.”
